Sean A. Spence

Dr. Sean Spence is an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University’s Costello College of Business, with prior teaching experience at the University of Maryland, Rice University, and Southern New Hampshire University. His passion for finance began as CEO of the Student-Run Saber Fund at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, inspiring him to establish an investment firm and family office named Spence Capital LLC, where he is the Managing Director.

Dr. Spence is also a Senior Manager with BDO, a professional services firm specializing in accounting and financial advisory. Previously, he was a Strategy and Corporate Finance Lead Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton and a Senior Consultant with Deloitte Consulting.

He is an appointed board member of the Cherry Hill Development Authority, contributing to the governance of a nearly $500 Million Capital Infrastructure Development Program in Prince William County, Virginia. He also serves on the Superintendent’s Advisory Council on Sustainability for Prince William County Public Schools, advising on energy and sustainability.

Dr. Spence’s is a former military officer and has multiple overseas assignments in Iraq, Kosovo, Korea, Kuwait, and Honduras. He served as Commander for the 416th Theater Engineering Command in Darien Illinois, Engineers Task Force Plans Officer in Camp Taji Iraq, and Senior Instructor at the US Army Engineer School in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
