Dave Lattanzi

Dr. David Lattanzi, PE is an associate professor and the John Toups Faculty Fellow in Civil Engineering at George Mason University. He also serves as the co-director of the Center for Advancing Human-Machine Partnership. Dr. Lattanzi’s research focus is at the intersection of civil engineering and computer science as it pertains to the integration of artificial intelligence into the next generation of smart cities and communities. He studies how AI can be leveraged to create intelligent infrastructure systems designed to enhance community resilience and sustainability. His current research initiatives include information-driven digital twins for structures, unmanned aerial vehicles for infrastructure management, and 3D computer vision methods for structural assessments. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in 2013 and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Pennsylvania.
